Laying out your wool

Felt can be made in many different ways.

I feel there is no right or wrong, providing your process results in well made felt.

For those of you unfamiliar with basic flat felt here are two quick videos demonstrating how I layout fibres.

One showing long staple wool eg: Merino

and a second showing the contrast of a short staple wool eg: Bergschaf, Norwegian

You can see how the short grey fibre is very springy & bouncy in contrast to the flat appearance of the long green fibre.
